I have spent my entire legal career with this firm, as a law clerk, then an associate and now a shareholder. Prior to going to law school, I practiced social work with the State of Arizona and the Platte County Missouri Juvenile Office. I specialized in child abuse and neglect.
I believe my social work background has given me the ability to empathize with my clients and a unique experience beneficial in child custody matters. Although, I believe I assertively represent my client’s interest, I am very concerned with the welfare and best interests of children. I think opposing counsel and parties should be dealt with honestly and with respect. As I often tell my clients, I do not believe lawyers “fueling the fire”, with unrealistic demands and accusatory rhetoric serves parties already involved in an emotional process.
Throughout the years I have served on the board of directors and committees of many not for profit organizations that benefit children. As an avid, but high handicap golfer, I have helped organize tournaments for bar organizations. I like sports in general, especially football, since I grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska.
